I had the pleasure of connecting with Cherlyn, the owner of Beauty Beyond the Crown™ earlier this year on some design work.

Cherlyn reached out to me because of our “previous work (portfolio) posted on the main website, quick response time to my inquiry, and reasonably priced services. Once I met with Maggie for our initial call, she was very professional, courteous, and overall seemed to be enthused about the project.”

After the first call with Cherlyn, I was VERY excited to partner with her. She had several projects in mind that she needed a designer for—t-shirt design, business cards, and lots of social media graphics.

About Beauty Beyond the Crown™

Beauty Beyond the Crown™ sells a serum to help those who are suffering from alopecia (hair loss). Cherlyn build and designed this serum to help others gain confidence as they are navigating this new season.

Talking with Cherlyn, she shared her journey and how she wants to help encourage, empower and uplift others. I was drawn to her passion and really honoured that we got to work together on this design project.

Instagram Highlights

We began working on the first project, custom Instagram highlights for her Instagram page. Cherlyn wanted to give her followers a branded experience on her page. We built 15 custom highlights that cover topics Cherlyn will share on social media.

I got to play around with custom illustrations, a few being illustrations of Cherlyn for her about me stories.

Instagram Templates

The next project we started was creating templates for Cherlyn to use as branded backgrounds on Instagram. She can easily upload these graphics, add some text and post seamlessly to Instagram. These templates are great for reviews, facts about her business, or topics her ideal clients may be interested in reading.

I designed a total of 12 custom post templates, that also translated into story posts, so she can use them for a variety of things.

Business Cards

Cherlyn knew exactly what she was looking for in the designs of her business cards. They played into a similar style to her t-shirt design, but with the addition of rose gold embossed flowers.

We opted to include a QR code for people to scan and then take them directly to her website. I love being able to design business cards, as they are still useful. And a fun way to include personal touches on all your branding materials.

T-Shirt Design

Cherlyn wants to print some t-shirts to give away as merch to clients, and when she is out networking. I loved being able to play around with a t-shirt design that also captured her vision.

Cherlyn chose a lotus flower to include in her designs because of its beauty and meaning. Lotus flowers represent self-regeneration and rebirth. This ties into what Cherlyn wants her customers to feel when they use her serum. The lotus flowers were a lovely addition to the t-shirt design instead of only using the logo.

YouTube Header

The last project we worked on was designing a YouTube header image for Cherlyn to put on her new channel. Cherlyn is hoping to start a channel where she can interview industry professionals, share tips, and build her community. So keep an eye out for the launch of that channel.

Design Projects

Some of my favourite projects are these designs because I get to participate in different businesses and help utilize branding that others have created. I loved being able to work with Cherlyn on these designs. Here’s what she said about working together.
