A logo won’t fix a problem.
And a brand isn’t just a logo.
There I said it.
Building a logo isn’t the only thing you need. It is part of what you need in your branding, but it is not the ONLY thing.
I see a lot of people asking for a designer to make them a logo. This is great. I know that visual identity is REALLY important. However, a pretty logo will not suddenly bring in new customers. It will not magically pay your bills. It might not even do anything for you.
What you really need is branding.
Branding is more than just your visual identity. It is also how your brand talks, is displayed, and how it would interact if it were a person. Branding gives voice to your dreams and mission. It helps you speak to your customers and serve them well.
Branding helps you focus on your customers and what resonates with them. Which might not always be what resonates with you.
You might not be thinking about your brand personality or what this logo says about you as you grow—and yes you can buy a new logo when you want to change.
But when you do that, you might miss the whole picture.
When you hire a brand designer, you are receiving more than just a logo. You get strategy, you get vision and you get a piece that will link your ideal client to you.
It’s more than something you slap onto a business card, poster, or social graphic. It is something that clients will recognize and look to you as an authority.
Because there is intentional thought behind it and you worked hard to make sure your brand attributes, vision, and personality all blend together.
A pretty logo you purchase online won’t solve the lack of direction you have.
Not only that, a custom logo will help you stand out and you won’t find someone else with the same one if your designer made it just for you!
If you’re not ready to work with a designer, don’t worry, I’m not bashing logos you can purchase. Just try to think about the long run and if that logo you buy will help convey the right message to your target market a year from now.
So if you’re looking at the long game and want a logo with intentional strategy, pop into my DMs, and let’s get working together!!👇🏻
Here are few that I’ve made, while they are lovely, there was also a strategy behind them to help each of my clients grow and also share their vision and personality with their ideal clients.
What did your first logo look like? No judgment if it had watercolour splashes in it😂
