If you have a website I’m sure you’ve heard of SEO and its importance.
But what if you don’t actually know what it is?! Not to worry! Here is a quick crash course on SEO and some tips you can implement TODAY on your website.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it focuses on your website’s standing—where you show up on the list of search results—in search engines, like Google.
For example, if you are a wedding florist, when someone searches for the best LA florists, you will pop up—hopefully near the top. You will know your SEO is working if you are appearing on the first page or close to the top of all the searches.
Showing up in search engines is important because it helps others know about you and the products or services you offer.
While SEO can be daunting, there are some things you can implement yourself—or hire an expert for.
I wouldn’t consider myself an expert, but I have had several years of working on websites and specifically working on improving SEO. I wish there was an easy formula too. But alas, Google and other search engines have an algorithm that makes it hard to say what exactly is the magic formula for perfect SEO.
These are tips that I’ve picked up over the years and what other web designers and SEO workers share are helpful with increasing your SEO position with organic searches—not paid advertising.
