About Maggie
I am SO excited to share this project with you!! I had the opportunity to work with Grace Trexel on the customization of her Showit template. Grace is a Nebraska documentary-style wedding photographer. And MY GOODNESS, this website is what dreams are made of *cue Lizzie McGuire music*
Grace came to me earlier this year wanting help to move her website from WordPress to Showit. She had purchased a template from Superhero Design and it was a gorgeous starting point.
In any website project, I have my clients go through and update their website copy. I give them the opportunity to write their own with some prompts I provide, or to hire a copywriter. Then I have them collect their BEST images that they want to showcase on their new website.
In Grace’s case, she was also upgrading her branding, so she was changing the whole look of her business. She worked with Sierra Bornschlegl on creating her stunning new brand.
After we got all those pieces, I was able to begin putting together Grace’s website.
When I’m working on a website template, I try to keep as much of the template, as possible. Since the business owner liked that style. But I also know that no template is *perfect* for everyone. So that is where we can take some customization and make the template more unique to the business owner.
In Grace’s case, it was showcasing her beautiful photography so we worked on creating a few new canvases in Showit to make sure her artwork was displayed front and centre.
Overall we kept a lot of the template, but made each page custom to Grace, her business needs, and her ideal client. We focused on making sure it was easy to book and find what someone is looking for.
Another special piece when clients work with me, is that I offer customization on graphics and icons. In this case, I was able to make some nice graphics for some of the wedding freebies that Grace offers.
These are little extra pieces that I like to give to help make the project more *them* and also the graphics can be used to help market on social media or email marketing.
When we were ready to launch, I was so excited to share with the world. Not only was Grace’s work the star of the website, but it felt like her branding, and the overall feeling of the website held up to the feelings she wanted her ideal clients to have.
Her website told a story, and every area you looked, you could tell that it was intentional. I absolutely LOVE how this customization turned out and I really can’t wait for you to check it out! Visit gracetrexel.com and if you are anywhere near Nebraska RUN and hire Grace to capture your love story!
If you are looking for help on up-leveling your business website but don’t have the time, reach out! I’d love to help bring your vision to life with either a custom website or template customization.
