In this video, I walk you through various click actions and tips for the Showit web host platform. There are various ways to link elements, text boxes, and individual words.
If you want the whole text box, image, or shape to be hyperlinked, you can select the text box, image, or shape and on the right menu, select “Click Actions.” Here you can choose where you want the link to go, a Page, a Canvas, URL, Email, etc. If you are selecting a canvas, in the “Action” section, select “Add” and then “Show Canvas” and select the canvas you want to pop up.
If you want to create a click-through canvas, you need to click on the canvas > three dots on the right > “Add Canvas View.” This creates a folder where you can put images, text, icons, etc. Repeat this process for however many items you want to click through—reviews, FAQs, pricing. Go and add an icon arrow and select “Click Actions.”
Under Link:
Set Type: Canvas
Canvas View: Next or Previous
Canvas: This Canvas, Select Loop Canvas Views
Under Actions:
Type: Show Site Canvas/ Hide Site Canvas
Site Canvas: The name of the site canvas
If you want to hyperlink a few words in the text box, highlight them and click on the link icon at the top of the text box.
You can also make your canvas only visible on mobile or desktop. To do that, select the three dots to the right of the canvas and uncheck “Visible on Desktop” or “Visible on Mobile.” This can be a great tool if you want a completely different canvas layout on desktop and mobile views.
Additionally to this, you can hide a canvas so it is not visible until it is “called.” Think of an accordion menu. For example, if you want a drop-down menu, you can create a hidden canvas, and then once the user clicks the button, the canvas will open. When you click on the canvas, on the right menu under “Canvas” select “Hidden to Start.” Then once you create a button to send users to that canvas it will pop up for them to view.
To do this, click into “Click Actions” > Type: Canvas > Canvas: Canvas Name > “Add” > “Show Canvas” > Canvas Name.
