About Maggie
I believe we’re in a time when businesses need to lean into branding. This isn’t just a pretty logo but also ties into the way you want users to feel when they interact with your business. Branding builds trust, helps with sales, and gives your business distinction from other companies. I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many entrepreneurs on building their brands, and recently I’ve had the chance to work with network marketer.
If you’re unfamiliar with network marketing, the premise is that you join a company and earn affiliate income from sharing a customized link when people purchase from your “store.”
As seen in a survey, Word of mouth is the most effective way to influence people. It affects 20% to 50% of consumers’ purchase decisions. (Mckinsey)” This is in essence, network marketing.
The unique thing about these marketers is they have the freedom to promote their affiliate company in any way that aligns with them.
Thus creating mini-brands, for each individual network.
This is a great opportunity, truly. Since there is already a large amount of brand work done for the main company, these mini-brands can focus on how they want to speak about the products.
These network marketers can dig deep into brand values and their “why” to help sell to their audiences.
Focusing on those individual pieces helps to build a brand that is authentic to the seller and can use the social proof and bigger company’s brand as they promote.
A big piece of branding is using uniformity and cohesion to build trust with your audience. By providing a brand for a network marketer they’re able to have guidelines on how to share pieces of the larger business.
By setting up guidelines, and choosing fonts and colours, these network marketers can create a unique and cohesive brand, that builds trust. See the benefits of branding from Forbes.
So what does that look like in practice? Well, let’s look at Rebekah, a client of mine who wanted a Brand Mini.
A brand mini is a smaller version of one of my brand packages. Since Rebekah works as a network marketer, she didn’t need a logo. But wanted the other pieces of a brand. We went through a client questionnaire that uncovered her ideal client, her brand voice, brand attributes, and the problems she wants to solve as she sells.
After we discussed the questionnaire, I went to find fonts and colours that resonated with her goals. Choosing pieces that reflected her vision, and also values. All of these pieces were strategically chosen to help her position her social media profile, email marketing, and any print marketing as a unified brand.
She selected the fonts and colours that were in line with her vision and ideal client.
After the fonts and colours were selected, I went ahead and built a brand guideline document for Rebekah. It reviewed her vision, goals, ideal client, and how to use these new brand assets.
I shared examples of social media posts that she could replicate on her own. And gave her tips on how to use these tools effectively.
In a Brand Mini, clients get a questionnaire, font and colour selections, and illustration pieces that can help tie in their brand to the main business, and a guide on how to use it all.
“Every single business owner should consider Maggie for their branding! Not only does she have various packages to choose from for your needs, but she also is an incredible communicator throughout the entire process! She truly listens to your requests and digs deep into your personality, your why, and what you want your brand to portray about you! The final product is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to see how this helps my business grow!” –Rebekah
If you’re curious about the benefits of having a unified look at your marketing, I’d encourage you to take a look at these statistics from this Crowd Spring article.
When looking at these, it’s obvious to me, and I hope you, that branding yourself, even as an affiliate or network marketer, is vitally important to making sales, and the overall success of your business.
