About Maggie
One of the projects I’m super excited to share is the website launch for a friend of mine, Caireen.
Caireen and I went to church together back in Canada. I’ve babysat her children, sung on the worship team and choir together, and gone hiking and camping with them.
She reached out last fall because she wanted to uplevel her business and have a professional website.
Caireen is a life coach in Scotland. Her business is Peregrine Coaching & Consulting, and she focuses on professional coaching for Ministry Business Leaders in Scotland. She helps her clients feel seen and inspired to set out on a journey to find clarity, freedom, and courage to move forward.
We built her custom website on Showit, and I love how it has turned out.
After filling out my client questionnaire, Caireen and I spoke about what she wanted in a website. Her main goals were functionality, having potential clients see themselves throughout the website, and being trustworthy.
Carieen had worked with a previous brand designer, so we had her fonts and colours all picked out. We spoke over some of her competitors and reviewed what she liked and did not like from their websites. I like to review their competition so we can see what other industry leaders are doing, and how we can make our website stand out, and still bring in new clients.
Caireen did not want any white background but wanted white space. White space is defined as enough space around text and other elements so there is nothing crammed. And giving the eyes of the viewer breathing room.
She also spoke on walking on a journey with her clients, so I started to find some elements that related to a journey—walking posts, trail markers, walking paths—to help guide the viewer throughout the website, but also tie into her goals.
From the first mockup above, we were able to identify pieces Caireen liked and disliked, to then create a new homepage that still led viewers on a journey but also flowed with professionalism Caireen offers.
Showit allows you to customize a lot of pieces to your website. Caireen and I were able to walk through the functionality and new features she wanted. One being, adding in a quiz for potential clients to take. We used Interact for her quizzes to be built on and then embedded the code from Interact into her website.
I also made an interactive FAQ page. Caireen wanted to provide some more information through her FAQs, so I came up with a creative and interactive way to display them. I made custom dropdowns—accordion menus—that also toggle through to different questions.
Through the initial questionnaire, Caireen mentioned she wanted a blog added to her website. Showit partners with WordPress as their blogging platform. I build a blog layout design in Showit and Caireen started a six-part series on coaching.
Adding a blog to a website is SUPER important, as it helps boost your website’s SEO. It also allows you to share very specific information about topics on your website, but you are not requiring your web visitors to read. Adding a blog to Caireen’s website also aids her credibility as a coach, because she can share more information on her process, and education—which helps her stand out.
We landed on an overall website design fairly quickly—thanks to Caireen’s quick decision-making.
I really liked being able to build out a clean and professional website design that display’s Caireen’s personality and business.
This was such a fun project to design and I’m so glad I got to reconnect with Caireen and be a part of her business journey.
Here’s what she had to say about working together
“Working with Hoffman Creative was an enjoyable and rewarding process. Maggie was able to draw out a sense of my brand and business and translate that into a website that far exceeded my expectations. She brought real expertise and a collaborative spirit that made her easy to trust and a true partner to work with. If you are rebranding or establishing your brand for the first time, Hoffman Creative is an obvious choice.”
Help me congratulate Caireen on her LAUNCH DAY!!
And visit her website to check out her offerings and take a fun self-assessment quiz too!
