About Maggie
Who doesn’t love a good sweet treat? I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth and being able to enjoy a cookie after a long day is a pure delight.
A close second to eating the cookie is being able to design a full rebrand for the talented Rachel Parks at The Rolling Pin. Rachel and I connected through mutual friends, and I FELL IN LOVE with her incredible cookie decorating skills.
I reached out to her one day to see if she wanted a new logo that matched her detailed and elegant cookies. We began talking about her vision and I started her project.
Rachel had been using a picture of her business card as a logo on her social media channels. It was a little too small to read and didn’t compliment her AMAZING cookie designs.
I asked Rachel for some inspiration, and she shared a few pieces for me to build off of. I was able to take those and begin blending them into a new brand that not only stood out but also spoke to Rachel’s ideal client.
She shared how she wanted to keep the rolling pin that was in her old logo—and her business name—and add some flowers or a few geometric shapes.
Her old logo had some warmer colours in it, but Rachel wanted to have new colours that were delicate yet still inviting. So I shared a few different colour palettes that included pastel greens and blues.
Rachel and I went through a few revisions. But she was able to articulate what she wanted. And I was on the same page so the brand revisions were minor. And we landed on a primary logo fairly quickly.
Rachel was so AMAZING to work with. We were able to nail down her new brand fairly quickly. And if I do say so myself, I think it turned out spectacular.
Rachel had a hard time choosing between two concepts that I shared with her that we decided to make them her primary and secondary logo. Both reflected her and her brand voice well.
Here’s what she said about working together:
“I was drawn to working with Maggie because of her positive attitude, and helpful information I had seen her share through Instagram. From start to finish, designing my perfect logo felt effortless on my part. I loved that I would send Maggie a suggestion and she would take it, put her spin on it, and send me several different ways that it could be incorporated into my logo. I would recommend Maggie and Hoffman Creative Co. to anyone who is looking to have a logo made!”
And as an additional thank you, Rachel sent me cookies! With my logo on them, and I about died!!! I LOVE how talented and thoughtful she is. Just look at them!!! I was so sad as I ate them—not really, they were absolutely DELICIOUS!
If you are in the Salem area, you NEED to check out Rachel’s cookies and follow her on Instagram @therpllingpin_rp. And be sure to order some of her cookies—they are almost too beautiful to eat 😉
