About Maggie
It’s okay if this has happened to youšš»ā
ā
1ļøā£ You start to see some things wrong with your current website, maybe it’s not capturing the direction you want to go. ā ā
2ļøā£ Your website isn’t standing out from your competitorsā
ā
3ļøā£ You want a more custom website but you are stuck to work in your current website’s boxy layout.ā
ā
If you’re nodding along with these, don’t worry, it just means you’re ready for a website redesign!šā
Now before you get too nervous about looking for a designer, here are a few things you should think about so youāre prepared for a web designer discovery callšš»ā
ā
1. Ways your current website is not serving your ideal clientāthis can be through design, photos, copy, all of the aboveā
ā
2. Are you looking down the road? Will your business pivot to online sales? Or blogging? It’s okay if you’re not there yet, but these are things to consider when you’re designing out a new siteāso the designer knows what is the best platform to be on for YOU + your needsā
ā
3. Think about the goal of your website, what do you want your ideal clients to do when they get there? What do you want them to do??ā
ā
4. Questions about how the designer works, their timeline, and how they take feedback/input from youā
ā
I know finding the right designer can be tough, that’s why I try to walk with you through the process so you are supported and feel this project is truly yours.ā
Finding the right fit with your website designer is key, as they will help you navigate the next year’s strategy and how your website can serve both you and your clients.
After you find the right fit, your designer will want to sit and learn all about your business. So even while you are searching for a designer start pulling together the information you have on your business.
*This is also helpful because we as business owners should know all the fun details and we need reminders on the good things we’ve done, too.*
Bring your designer into the planning. Share your dreams and vision for where you want your business to go. This will help us designers plan out a website that fits where you want to go, and hopefully grow with you and your business.
Share your ideas, and things you want to include in a new website. If this all sounds like a lot, it is. But don’t worry, the right designer will walk with you as you unpack all of this.
Now to the fun part, the design. This is actually second to the copy (website text). A beautiful website will only do so much. You need to have intentional copy to keep your ideal clients on your website.
The copywriting comes first, then the design. I recommend it this way so I’m not having to redesign a page to fit your copy, but use your copy to shape the design and overall look of the website.
Working on a website will bring up some new ideas and also show areas you as a business owner can grow ināmaybe you haven’t been gathering testimonials, or need more images of yourself. Working with a designer will help you improve your overall brand, and give you some more confidence, too.
I’ve had the pleasure of working on several websites since starting my business, they are truly fun sites that have taught me a lot and also shaped my designing skills.
I’ve worked with wedding industry professionalsāwedding photographers, and event planners. Business coaches, hairstylists, artists, and bakers. I love being able to create something new and beautiful for my clients that help them draw in their ideal client.
If you are wanting to uplevel your website jump on my calendar and let’s chat! I have several openings this year.
